A couple of days ago I posted about our hardwiring beliefs, some of them good, some of them not. My Bernese Mtn. dog puppy, who is almost 10 months old is a perfect example of young hard wiring. I took my puppy, Thor, to puppy school and learned the basic things like sit, stay, wait and ‘leave it’. Well, Thor has a habit now of nipping at my heels in the morning. I pulled out that weapon of saying, “Leave It!” And he stopped nipping my heels. Amazing! He was trained on that 3 months. I had forgotten about it, but sure enough, when I used it, the words were effective. Some hardwiring is good!
